How to use this tool
Choose whether to solve for pace, finish time or distance, then select kilometers or miles.
Finish time uses hours:minutes:seconds; pace uses minutes:seconds per distance unit. The split sheet assumes a constant pace.
Pace = time / distance; time = pace × distance; distance = time / pace
Worked example
5:00 / km · average pace
Fixed example using the settings below. Monetary examples use USD; dates and times use their stated reference values. This example stays unchanged when you edit your calculation.
Example inputs
- Solve for: Pace
- Distance unit: Kilometers
- Distance: 5
- Finish time (hours:minutes:seconds): 0:25:00
Method illustration: 5 km in 25 minutes is 5:00 per kilometer, or about 8:03 per mile.
Assumptions and limits
- Assumes a constant pace. Splits are proportional planning estimates, not race-performance predictions.
- Distances and times must be positive. Pace uses minutes:seconds, while finish time uses hours:minutes[:seconds].
