How to use this tool
Enter the target date, time and named time zone. Live countdown uses your device's current clock.
To reproduce the fixed example, turn Live off and use its stated UTC reference instant. Days are periods of 24 elapsed hours.
Remaining duration = target instant − reference instant
Worked example
1165d 0:00:00 · until the target
Fixed example using the settings below. Monetary examples use USD; dates and times use their stated reference values. This example stays unchanged when you edit your calculation.
Example inputs
- Target local date and time: 2030-01-01T00:00
- Target IANA zone: UTC
- Reference UTC instant: 2026-10-24T00:00:00Z
- Live countdown: No
- If the clock repeats: Ask me to choose
Method illustration: A target exactly 24 hours after the reference is one day away.
Assumptions and limits
- The target is a dated wall time in the named zone. A live countdown uses your device clock; its accuracy depends on that clock.
- Saved calculations retain the target. Live mode resumes using the current device time.
